Guide TB1260LS Thermal Clip-On

The Guide TB1260LS Thermal Clip-On is the top of the Guide hunting clip-on range, built around a 1280x1024 detector and an in-lens laser rangefinder. It clips ahead of your day scope, keeps your zero and your reticle, and hands you both identification and a confirmed range before you decide whether to take the shot. This is a serious piece of gear for people who shoot at distance and cannot afford to guess.

Identification at range, not just a hot blob

The 1280x1024 sensor at 12µm pitch behind a 60mm lens gives a detection range of 3200m, with a field of view of 14.6° x 11.0°, or about 25 x 19 metres of ground at 100 metres. The high pixel count is what lets you tell a doe from a spiker, or a goat from a stray weaner, at ranges where lesser sensors give you a shape and leave the rest to you.

A 1200 metre rangefinder inside the lens

The 1200m laser rangefinder sits in-lens rather than bolted to the side, so what it ranges is what you are looking at. Combined with G-Zero shutterless technology there is no calibration pause to interrupt a stalk, and the Hyper-light image enhancement algorithm lifts contrast in humid or dusty air where thermal images usually flatten out.

Sensitivity that holds up on a still, cold night

NETD is 15mK over the 8 to 14µm waveband at 50Hz. Low NETD means the unit can separate very small temperature differences, which is the difference between seeing an animal bedded in cool grass and walking straight past it. The 0.5-inch AMOLED at 1600 x 1200 carries that detail through to your eye, with seven palettes including White Hot, Black Hot and Iron Red.

Long nights and rough handling

Two replaceable 18650 batteries give about 6 hours of use, with standby mode to stretch that further and USB-C for external power. Video recording, audio recording and a Wi-Fi hotspot are all built in for reviewing or sharing footage. The housing is IP68 rated, works from -20°C to 50°C, and measures 162 x 97 x 102mm at 740g.
