Guide TD650LS Thermal Monocular with LRF

The Guide TD650LS Thermal Monocular with LRF is the long-lens option in the TD series, built for open country where you need to reach out rather than sweep wide. It carries a 640 class detector, a laser rangefinder and a 50mm objective in a handheld weighing 465g. The focusing roller and symmetrical housing keep it comfortable one-handed in either hand.

Detection to 2600 metres across open ground

A 640x512 detector at 12µm pitch behind the 50mm lens gives a 2600m detection range, with a field of view covering about 15 x 12 metres of ground at 100 metres. That is the trade the longer lens makes: a tighter picture, but far more reach and image scale on the far side of a paddock or the opposite ridge.

Magnification up to 23x for a proper look

The zoom runs 2.91x to 23.28x. At the top end you can work out what you are looking at well before it knows you are there, which is the whole point of a spotter. The 0.49-inch AMOLED at 1440 x 1080 keeps the picture clean, and the -6 to +6 diopter means glasses are optional.

Ranged, not guessed

The integrated laser rangefinder reads to 1200m. Distance across cleared country is notoriously hard to judge in the dark, and a measured number changes how you plan the approach. Sensitivity is 15mK NETD across 8 to 14µm at 50Hz, so faint temperature differences on cooled ground still register and moving animals stay sharp. Seven palettes are on board, including White Hot, Black Hot and Iron Red.

Ten hours out, sealed against the weather

A single replaceable 18650 battery runs for around 10 hours, with USB-C for power and data transfer. Video recording, audio recording and a Wi-Fi hotspot are included. The body is IP67 rated, works from -20°C to 50°C and measures 201 x 67 x 88mm.
