Guide TN450LS 2.0 Thermal Binoculars

The Guide TN450LS 2.0 Thermal Binoculars let you glass a valley with both eyes and get a range on whatever you find without swapping tools. Detection runs to 2600m and the built-in laser rangefinder reads out to 1500m, so the sequence of spot, identify and range happens in one device and one movement. Two-eye viewing also cuts the eye strain that comes with hours behind a monocular.

Spot at 2600 metres, range at 1500

A 50mm F1.0 lens feeds a 400x300 detector on a 12um pitch, giving a 2600m detection range. Magnification runs 6.2x to 24.8x with a field of view of 5.2 degrees x 3.1 degrees, roughly 9 x 5m at 100 metres. That is a deliberately tight, long-reach setup for picking apart distant faces of country rather than sweeping close scrub. The laser rangefinder then gives you a hard number to 1500m before you decide on a stalk or a shot.

Fifteen millikelvin of temperature discrimination

NETD at 15mK means the sensor separates very fine temperature differences. Late at night, when the ground, the rocks and the timber have all bled their heat away, that sensitivity is the difference between a shape you can call and a smudge you cannot. The detector works across 8um to 14um at 50Hz, and the ApexVision S1 architecture handles motion cleanly so panning does not leave ghosting behind moving animals.

A 1920x1080 view in each eye

The 0.49-inch AMOLED display runs 1920x1080, which is where the detail from a long lens actually shows up. Seven palettes are on hand, including White Hot, Black Hot, Iron Red and Sepia, and dioptre adjustment covers -6D to +6D per eye.

Eight hours, hot-swappable, sealed to IP67

Run time is 8 hours on the built-in pack, and an external 18650 cell means you can keep going without heading back to the vehicle. Charging and power run over USB-C at 5V DC 2A. The unit measures 208x137x68.5mm, weighs 722g, carries an IP67 rating and works from -20C to 50C. Dual-band Wi-Fi at 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz streams to a phone, with snapshot, video and audio recording on board.
