HIKMICRO Stellar SQ50L 4.0 Thermal Scope
The HIKMICRO Stellar SQ50L 4.0 is a 50mm thermal rifle scope built in a traditional 30mm tube profile, aimed at hunters and pest controllers who need long-range detection and an integrated rangefinder without an oversized housing on the rifle. It pairs a high-sensitivity 640×512 detector with a built-in laser rangefinder and ballistic calculator, so ranging, zeroing and shooting are handled from the one unit. It suits foxing, pig and deer work on paddocks and in timber where you need to pick a target out from clutter at distance and then put a reliable number on the range before you squeeze the trigger.
High-Resolution Thermal Imaging:
At the heart of the HIKMICRO Stellar 4.0 SQ50L is a high-sensitivity 640×512 VOx thermal detector with a 12μm pixel pitch, and its NETD of less than 12mK helps distinguish subtle temperature differences, producing detailed thermal images.
In the field that sensitivity is what lets you pick a fox out from cool, damp grass or spot a pig against ground that has barely warmed, rather than losing it in a flat grey scene.
Long-Range Detection With a 50mm F1.0 Lens:
The HIKMICRO Stellar SQ50L 4.0 is a thermal rifle scope built around a 640 × 512 VOx detector with 12 µm pixels and a 50mm F1.0 lens, with magnification running from 3.5×–28.0×.
HIKMICRO specifies a detection range of up to 2,600 metres for this configuration
, which is a detection rating rather than an identification distance, so treat it as a figure for spotting movement and confirm the target properly as you close the range.
Integrated 1,200m Laser Rangefinder and Ballistics:
The laser rangefinder is built in, so there's no separate unit to mount, power or carry, and it ranges from 10 m to 1,200 m, accurate to ±1 m.
The SQ50L also lists a ballistic calculation feature, five zeroing profiles and freeze zeroing, so you can store set-ups for more than one rifle or load.
That combination means you range the target, read the hold-over the scope calculates, and stay on the same reticle whether you are swapping between a .223 varminter and a heavier deer rifle.
Clear AMOLED Display and Onboard Recording:
The image is shown on a 1.03-inch 2560×2560 AMOLED display, with an 8 mm exit pupil, 55 mm eye relief and a -5D to +5D diopter range.
Six palettes are included: Black Hot, White Hot, Red Hot, Fusion, Red Monochrome and Green Monochrome
, so you can switch between a hot-white silhouette for quick spotting and a monochrome mode for sustained glassing without eye fatigue.
The scope includes built-in 64GB EMMC storage for saving photographs, videos and audio recordings, and recoil-activated recording provides an additional recording function
, which is handy for reviewing a shot or keeping a record for the property owner.
Built for Long Nights and Heavy Calibres:
Two internal rechargeable lithium batteries work with a replaceable external rechargeable 18650 battery to provide up to 9.5 hours of continuous operation at 25°C with the laser rangefinder switched on.
The internal batteries charge over USB-C (5 V DC/2 A, QC3.0), and the external 18650 charges in the supplied battery charger
, so you can top up from a power bank between paddocks.
The IP67-rated housing is built to operate in demanding outdoor conditions, with a specified operating temperature range of -30°C to +55°C
, and
the datasheet rates the SQ50L to 6,000 J of maximum recoil
, covering everything from a .22-250 up to heavier hunting calibres.
The standard 30 mm tube sits in ordinary 30 mm rings like a traditional riflescope, centre height is 36 mm, and the scope weighs 1,008 g with the external battery fitted.
